What did you do before your role at Noosa Confidential?
My yogic journey began while traveling in India in 2011. A desire for knowledge and a strong commitment to practice drove an ongoing exploration of yogic disciplines that lead me throughout Asia and the Americas. After my second formal training, my teacher Vijay Gopala sent me forth to share my understanding of yoga. This journey took me through Sri Lanka, Indonesia and finally Australia, which I now call my home.
The therapeutic aspect of my practice was initially drawn from the more intimate experiences of teaching private clients. Inspired to explore this further, I found employment in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. Wanting to combine the intimacy of private tuition with the strongly therapeutic aspect of rehabilitation, I found work at several health programs, settling finally on Noosa Confidential.
Why do you choose to work at Noosa Confidential?
I choose to work at Noosa Confidential primarily due to the high expectations and quality of service delivered by the program. I am allowed ample scope to delve fully into the experience of my clients, creating the required intimacy for proper guidance to the root of self-awareness.
What does a general day look like in your work?
Due to my belief in authenticity of practice, I generally reserve the mornings for myself. Once I have connected with myself, I am free to share. It is from this place that I do my work. By connecting with myself, I create the necessary sensitivity to be able to connect with my clients and establish the energetic loop required for the therapeutic nature of my work to be expressed.
What are you most proud of in your work at Noosa Confidential?
Yoga has brought me closer to myself than anything else I have ever experienced. Because of this, I feel a sense of duty to share my experience and understanding of yoga with others. Thus, my profession is one of service, equally to my clients and the tradition of yoga. I do not feel that I work as such, but that I participate in the experience of my client. I create a space within which clients can simply be, and establish a connection with themselves. When this is achieved I am content.
